U18 AA win Silver Division in Pittsburgh!
Your 2022/2023 U18 AA Sabres came together to play their second game of the season on Friday morning at a prestigious JR/U18/U15 showcase tournament, the Labor Day Girls Fest in Pittsburgh, after having played only one exhibition before. 

Then they played 5 more games this weekend until Maren Capanelli scored unassisted and shorthanded in OT to win the Silver Division Championship 3:2 against the home team - the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite!

The Sabres went up early on a beautiful shot by Ava Beck. The Penguins came back to tie it up later in the first and took the lead early in the second. Darragh Browne tied it back up with 2:53 left in the second. Tara Bach made 27 saves on 29 shots to keep the game tied at 2:2 and take the Penguins to overtime. Your Sabres were assessed 8 minor penalties and killed all of them including two 5on3 situations. 

The U18 AA Sabres won 5 of their 6 games this weekend including a thrilling 3:2 shootout victory by Mya Castrillo against the Minnesota Jr Whitecaps - no other team beat the eventual Gold Division Champions this weekend. Caileigh Tiller and Maren Capanelli scored the two goals in regulation time in that game.
