Former Sabres named to the 2018 Canadian Women’s Olympic Team


Three former Sabres have been named to the 2018 Canadian Olympic Team who will be heading in February to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea
2014 Olympic Gold Medalist Brianne Jenner and Laura Fortino and first time Olympian Sarah Nurse have been named to the Olympic Team
 
Brianne Jenner  
 
Was a member of the Jr Sabres from 2005-2008 and Co-Captain in 2007-2008.
Brianne's Sabres career she was a member of Sabres teams that took home 2 Golds at the 
OWHA Provincials and a PWHL Gold, Silver and Bronze. 
Brianne ended her PWHL career with 114 points including 75 goals in 81 games
 
Brianne was a member of the 2005 Team Ontario Blue and took home Gold with the Team Ontario Red and the Ontario Canada Winter Games teams in 2007

Brianne went on to be a member of the Silver Medal winning Team Canada U18 Team in 2007-08 and 2008-09
 
Brianne attended Cornell University who were the Finalist in the 2010 NCAA National Championship game that was decided in triple overtime.  Brianne was the Team Captain her Senior Year

Brianne was on the roster of the 2010 Olympic Centralization Team and became a full time member in 2011.
Brianne scored the first goal for Canada in their come from behind 3-2 overtime win in the Gold Medal Game at the 2014 Sochi Olympics

Brianne was also a member of IIHF Silver Medal Team Canada in 2016 and in 2017 
 
Laura Fortino


Was a member of the Jr Sabres from 2006-2009 and was Assistant Captain from 2007-2009
Laura Sabres career she was a member of Sabres teams that took home 2 Golds and a Silver at the OWHA Provincials and PWHL Gold and Bronze
Laura had 83 points in 89 games during her PWHL career
Laura was a member of the Gold Medal winning Team Ontario Red in 2007 and 2008
Laura  went on to be a member of the Silver Medal winning Team Canada U18 Team in 2007-08 and 2008-09

Laura was also a member of Silver Medal Team Canada in 2016 and In 2017 
 
Sarah Nurse


Was a member of the Sabres from 2009-2013 after playing with the MAA Sabres in 2008-09 season
Sarah was an Assistant Captain in 2012-2013
Sarah finished 2nd in PWHL scoring in 2012-13 and finished her PWHL career 125 points in 105 games.
 
Sarah was a member of the Gold Medal winning Team Ontario Red in 2011 and Bronze Medalists in 2012
Sarah also took home a IIHF Gold Medal as a member of the Team Canada U18 Team in 2012-13 
 
Sarah has been a member of Hockey Canada's Development Team in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017

Sarah graduated in 2017 at the University of Wisconsin and was Assistant Captain her Senior Year.
Wisconsin were NCAA Championship Finalists in 2014.
Wisconsin made the NCAA Frozen Four in all 4 years of Sarah's career losing in the Championship Game in 2017
